Revolution OR War

Revolution
The People War

The most innovative phase of development throughout the history has been Revolution Time. We need violence to find silence, we need war to get peace, we must handover our life to get freedom and we must stop to start again. One of the most contrast human emotion is to achieve an element by mastering its contrast. Such has been the depictions which has resulted in radically opposite ideas to achieve something completely against the basic nature of action.

France should have a special status in history not because of its current state but because of the idea of People's War it demonstrated to the world. The French Revolution was one of the first People's movement registered in history. It was People who took part in the revolution and turn all the stones upside down. Alias, the first Democracy was achieve by fishermen, women, peasant, workers and middleclass walking on the street of Paris to make sure Justice is achieved. The executed (killed) 3000+ Officials (Including King and Queen) against injustice done to the people of France by these so called Royal and Nobel classes of France was the action taken by the people. The root cause of such a extreme People reaction was as simple as rise in price of 'Bread'. The King (who is suppose to be the Care taker) did nothing to improve life of lower class and middle working class. The situation deteriorated from Bread price rise to malnutrition to starvation and at the end People took the country in their own hands. Finally in 1789 the color of France (Red and Blue) was divided by white (Nobel class, resulted in French Flag).

*As we know today, every revolution have a cost and France was no different then. The city of Paris witness execution of its own King and Queen along with many other. During that time Madam Tussaud used to search Heads of executed Royal and Nobel personals and make castings of it to finally make replicates in Wax (Now established as Madame Tussaud Wax Museum).

The Revolution, Injustice and helplessness has always resulted in extreme actions. Be it for Freedom, Equality or Injustice, People had chosen the path of revolution to eradicate the social elements responsible for their sufferings. Extremism, Revolution or Peaceful it may be, the People response to dissatisfaction has always been the background for any movement. India is no different. India has witness many revolutions. We had seen Peaceful approach (M Gandhi) to Extreme approach (Freedom Fighters and national revolution of 1856) during our revolution for Freedom. Doesn't matter how different the two actions were, the end purpose of both remains Independent India. Our revolution saw its success in the year 1947 and on 15th of August India was declared free state. The History (as it always does) changed after that.

As soon as the Freedom is achieved there was development in all parts of society. Education, Infrastructure, Basic amenities, Water, Agro and Industrial took a catalytic path and took India to a different level. But soon, Equality takeover the minds of people and India divided itself into different regions (States). Actually, we have to blame our own beliefs and willingness to accept division. We bless the idea of division by separating Muslim state Pakistan during the freedom negotiation. What else then, we divided ourselves on all possible Equalities and thanks to our languages, religions and classes who helped us to vividly yet arguably draw the cutting lines within us. And even after passage of half century, still there are disputes and divisions all across our Country "INDIA".

Amidst all these political, regional, administrative and developmental domains, the remote of the most remote areas were left untouched. Be it freedom movement or constitution of India, many regions were left unattended. Suddenly one fine day,1950 Naxalbari (one such remote village in West Bengal), the deliberately isolated Tribal people, became victim of constitution of India. The people who never knew of any rule were declared colony of Republic of India. Tribal people had lived their lives with great attachment and dependencies on forest resource (mountains, forest, river banks etc.), and detaching them from their forest lands can be compared to giving death sentence. Under such circumstances when they face threats of Freedom, Inequality and Injustice, they took the obvious path of Extreme revolution. Naxalism was born and a new word was added to Indian history. People who never knew of education, roads, health and water facilities were asked to sacrifice their life (land and forest) for Indian Government and the reaction from Tribals "Naxalites" was Natural for survival. The State offer them right to vote in exchange of their birth right to livelihood and they declared war. They actually did what anyone else will do, they revolted against Indian government.

We see bandh, road blockage, hartaal, menace and even fights with police for reasons ranging from high class societies coming out on street to protest a garbage collection point in front of their gate to water supply problem to bad roads. What should be the action against government when it take land and resource of a group of people and use it for its own benefit? What the Tribals should do when their children lands will be turned into mines, industry or government office? Tatas singur dispute to current hide-seek war between CRPF and Naxalites want answer for the above question which the Government of India has failed to answer. Government is ready to take lands and turn them into mines and want to use all resources to full fill the country need, but there is no question asked regarding due justice to be done for the owners of those lands.

The situation has added more dimensions to it. The Naxalite groups are now organized and to some extend the flavor of politics is also added to it. Now to make things worse, there are four parties (Real Naxal Leaders, Politicians, Government Officials and local civilians). Indirectly related to all this are citizens of India like you and me who are enjoying a small part of these resources. There are reports and surveys on how these Naxal organizations are operating by taking money by political parties and some times even from Mining industries by permitting them some share of influence.

The biggest question is what and how to resolve the situation. We must know more about the actualities of these issues before watching it on Television news and passing judgement on it. Whether CRPF kills a Naxal or Naxal kills a Jawan, the loss is to human and People of our nation. Soon Dhoni will tie his knot and after some more war of words between Cong-BJP, our media will turn its attention to real issues. Till then be happy.
